Day 3 in Bristol... Storm Eunice happened. The winds were strong and gusty, and the sunny spells were interspersed with v. heavy rains, but overall it was considerably less dramatic than anticipated (in Bristol). The Met. Office red alert meant that the buses weren't running and many shops and museums were closed...  We'd been planning to take the ferry across to see the S.S. Great Britain, to go to the netsuke exhibition at Bristol Museum and Gallery, and to use buses to shorten distances, but did "walking tourism" instead. We still visited the S.S. Great Britain (although the costly tickets put us off entering), couldn't enter M Shed but admired the adjacent cranes &c., visited Bristol Cathedral, and thoroughly explored the streets, cafes, and music tech. shops of the city centre.
Bristol seems like a wonderful city!
