Blast from the past

Donations come in all shapes and sizes, and the bundle delivered today has a large number of photo frames, minus the photos, perfumes, board games, and, yes an old Walkman.

Thinking no one would even know what it was, let alone be interested in having it, up stepped Andries who has a bundle of tapes that were his Dad’s, but had no player.

The best bit came when Nikita asked what a Walkman did, and tapes were duly explained. She asked if it would only play in English. Puzzled looks all round, until we realized that because the donor was English speaking, she thought the Walkman could only play English music.

She eventually joined our laughter when she realised why we were laughing.
