Back of Tolbiac--

that is, the Rue de Tolbiac seen from the back from our bedroom window (our apartment has two views :)  The building on the left is under total renovation. There are two workers in it, wearing orange vests--one at the top left and the second two floors down on the right (less conspicuous).

As the image suggests, the day was cloudy and grey. We did a major shop at our Carrefour supermarket on Rue de Tolbiac (to the left of the renovation.

We were greatly saddened to hear of the unexpected death of the eminent doctor and humanitarian Paul Farmer, in Rwanda at a hospital and university which he had helped to establish. It's an unutterably sad loss to the world. He left us too soon (at 62), but his work will be carried on by the organization he helped found, Partners in Health, and by the health professionals he trained in many countries, including Haiti where he began and worked for many years.
