Sliced wholemeal loaf

Well, that's what I saw when I first noticed this. Fungus obviously, but I'm no fungologist.

I confess I'm cheating with a photo a couple of days old. We've had rainfall of biblical proportions. I'm just popping down to IKEA for a 'Noa" self-assembly Ark kit. I trust it won't take forty days and forty nights to put together, as it's already been raining for several, and we don't have that long.
