The longest day

Twice a year at work I have mandatory physical safety training and emergency life saving refresher training.
Normally they tell me to go to a location I can get to on TfL.
Not today.
I had to attend somewhere near Hayes Station (Kent).
Awful journey including having to walk from the station along country roads through woodland without footpaths or streetlights.
Bad enough getting there in daylight but making the return journey back at 9pm was pretty bloody unsafe.
Anyway, a two+hour journey there and back made my day even longer than a normal 11 hour shift. Bastards.
At least my fitness test is done for another year.
