….. ….. New Zealand native birds - a fantail, or piwakawaka.

We were walking back to the car and stopped at the Try Burn, and turned aside to walk a little way up the stream. Much to my delight a pair of fantails joined us, then another and another, until there were at least six flitting around us, waving their tails and singing away. It was a magical experience. A fantail glade?

There has been an announcement today that has been headlines news. A Judge in the High Court has overturned the vaccine mandates for the Defence Force and Police Force. All personnel that had been dismissed or stood down are to be reinstated, and those that had held out against having to be vaccinated, no longer have to. The Police will be hugely relieved as they have become very short staffed. Repercussions are likely to be far reaching.
