Ye funny olde England

I attended an astonishingly conservative, backward looking, self complacent talk this evening on the future (or should i say the past...) of universities in the UK. It was held very appropriately in Painters Hall in London which dates itself back to the 1500s, sneakily disguising the fact it was destroyed by bombing in the war under a sea of wooden panelling and gloomy portraits of old men.
The talk was hosted by the company of educators - an organisation with an 800 year old heritage. They are clearly a fast moving bunch of chaps as after 800 years they are now awfully close to achieving their goal.
And what goal would you expect from something called the company of educators? Well it's obvious really. Their own livery.
