The spring flowers are relishing the warmer weather and beginning to bloom. It's good to see them.

I cycled into work today - bliss since the schools are still out. I noticed quite a few trucks on the move, though (probably the same amount as usual, but they were more noticeable without the mass of cars). I stayed well behind them. J alerted me to the death of a cyclist in Victoria. The cyclist and the lorry had turned left and the tipper truck crushed her on the inside when turning. She didn't have the option of leaping on to the pavement (there was building work on the corner they were turning round). It sends shivers up the spine.

At our FEAST meeting tonight we were joined by a student who's investigating markets and their impact on the community as part of his MA. The West Norwood FEAST is particularly interesting since it's unique (being volunteer-powered). Along with other FEASTies, I'm going to be interviewed as part of his research. How exciting! It sounds like it will be a very interesting thesis - an overview of market culture and communities and how councils work with markets will be a useful paper.
