Contorted

Sometimes it's just a reflex, when you catch a shot out of the corner of your eye. The graphic pattern of the branches against the cool snow in shadow appealed to me. I liked the calligraphy of the organic lines made by the twisted shrub.

It was bright sunshine today and the light reflecting off the fresh snow blinding. Overnight we had about 4", smoothing out the landscape, covering it with a homogenous white blanket. A bit of manoeuvring was required to find a consistent background for this shot.
