Beauty in a Strange Location….

There is beauty in the strangest places. This plant is growing and flowering almost under a footbridge adjacent to the Taylor River. It appears to have rooted in some water debris. I thought it may be a type of water-loving Iris and posted it to a Facebook group “Plant Identification New Zealand”. A user has said the plant is a yellow Canna Lily. I’d never seen yellow Canna Lilies so checked it out online. It seems the kindly user is correct. Facebook certainly has positive uses.
