Paint it white??

My daughter2 ( by age of course) was given a piano. 

It was taken home and the family of 4 sat down to play it ....and 2 , no written music, sat down and played it by ear ( not immediately but with a little perseverance) and now is a fixture. How do people do that? My mother did for example!

But .....it was brown and miserable, see extra,  and didn't go with the decor and so she said would I like to paint it white? 

Memories of John Lennon...and I said ..yes. So 5 coats later and here it is!
