Who will watch the watchmen?

When things are wrong, from our point of view, do we choose ignore it or confront it? The West has been working with the Russians in a wide variety of ways. Dubious money comes into the UK, no-one apparently questions that. Annexing the Crimea seemed to pass under the radar.
Have we been frightened of looking, hiding from reality, keeping in the dark and turning a blind eye?

Incidentally, who is investigating the problems in our police? And does anyone remember an investigation into parties in No 10? Is this small beer now? When does small become significant.
