Passage

The news continues to be grim.

We really are a breathtakingly stupid species sometimes. Often, actually.

We have the capacity to see an oncoming existential crisis, but instead of working together to fix it (which may be possible), we focus all the energy required on moving lines on maps, so we can be the king of the smouldering mess.

I’m generally an optimist, but sometimes people make maintaining that mindset really, really hard.
