Plum Cherry hybrid

Hybrid between Chinese / Japanese Plum ( Prunus salicina ) and Sweet Cherry ( Prunus avium). Confusingly, as in this case, it is called a Cherry Plum. But it is not to be confused with another species which also has that name.

Anyway it grows well in a walled garden in the village and its fruit are good to eat.
