Mud!

We took advantage of the glorious sunshine this morning and stepped out for a walk of nearly three miles, up hill and down dale (several times).  The first road was fully surfaced with mud, and the gradient (down dale) was such that we had to step carefully.

And after a mile or so uphill we broke out from the wooded track to see our village church from the other side of the valley (Extra).  Our research on Ancestry gives us another angle of the village, some of whose inhabitants were ancestors of Mrs B father and grandmother, and some of whom ended up in the Poor House of the next Parish.  It must have been hard times . . .
