My last day in the office and it is goodbye to the Dutch connection after three and a half years.
With a car load of my favourite things and bits and bobs from my flat I am heading back to the UK. A relaxing crossing from Hoek-van-Holland to Harwich, putting my feet up, reading, contemplating and making plans for the future.
The six hour drive from the Ferry Port to home was tiring, road closures sent me on a bit of an odyssey. Shouldn’t complain, the car in front of passport control had come all the way from Ukraine. I listened to all the debates and news from the Ukraine on the radio on the way home and what is happening there is heartbreaking.
