Warships in Dundee

A bright sunny day

My wife was leading at Church this morning, when we spent a good time praying for the situation in Ukraine. It is very distressing to see what is happening there and we trust that it will end sooner rather than later.

Afterwards, we went across the River Tay to have a look at the four warships which had arrived in Port a couple of days ago.Standing NATO Maritime Group One (SNMG1) said the vessels had arrived for a scheduled port visit.
SNMG1 currently comprises of flagship FGS Berlin (A1411) and FGS Erfurt (F262) (Germany), HDMS Peter Willemoes (F362) (Denmark), and HNLMS Van Amstel (F831) (The Netherlands).
They had been having joint exercises out in the North Sea and here to re-fuel and re-stock provisions. Although these exercises had been long planned, I am sure there is an extra significance, particularly with the possible threats to the Baltic and Scandinavian countries.
I pray that it will not develop like that, but history shows that nothing can be guaranteed.
