Eva had a fabulous morning doing dressage at Pickering. There were six in her class and she rode a beautiful test and came 1st with 68.04% winning by quite a margin. The judges spoke to me after the test and said what an amazing pony he is and how we are so lucky to have him. So proud of Eva too as she gets so nervous beforehand but manages to really focus and get on with it and takes on board all the comments for improvements from previous tests.

It took ages for the scores to come out so there was quite a bit of hanging about. Georgia was taking Buddy out with the readyfield again. I was so tempted to go as well but Eva's dressage takes priority and although not too taxing for Jack, I did think it was a bit much to do both and also just too tiring for me at the moment so I offered her Buddy as Colin is only just coming back into work after his baby break.

I just about made it to see her ride off. They were supposed to come back to the trailers at half time so we waited there for them. We had a couple of reports that someone had fallen and the horse had bolted. It had travelled several miles before they caught it. Was relieved to hear it was a thoroughbred and not a chunky cob! Not sure what happened but two and a half hours passed and still no sign of them. Starting to feel a bit worried then Georgia came trotting up the drive on her own. She said Buddy had started tripping and felt tired so she decided to come back, which I think shows a massive amount of maturity. That's what I love about Georgia- she always puts the horse first. She said she'd had a brilliant day, Buddy had been the perfect gent and had flown over all the jumps so was happy to call it a day. She's only fourteen and I think a lot of kids her age would have just thrashed on so I'm really proud of her for making the right decision. They ended up having their break somewhere else so we didn't see them at all. Still it was a sunny day and had a nice chat to Kim and her folks while we waited.
