Waiting for Paul

The view from the roof of "our" little hotel here in Faro, dashed up to get a photo, so I could Blip, don't want to be on the laptop after he gets here. Hopefully, Mike will get a selfie or something of us after he gets here.

Lent reading today was Luke 4v1-13, about Jesus being tempted by the Devil. Interesting to note that Jesus ends up doing all the things the Devil tempts him to, but with love and relationship, not with naked power. For example, the first temptation - to make bread to satisfy his own hunger; Jesus does eventually and miraculously make bread, but it's to satisfy the hunger of others, not himself. We can force people to do what we want or to admire us or to need us, but it's not Jesus' way; he always acts with love, and always gives us a choice.

Gratefuls:
- a few tense moments this morning with Paul's flight, but people prayed and it came right
- getting more done this morning than I'd hoped; my fingers were more usable than yesterday
- a safe journey down through Spain, and some delicious raciones at "our" place in Villablanca
