Red Truffle-like Fungus

While weeding under some trees I came across this red object in the leaf litter. Thinking it was rubbish I tossed it aside, but when I picked it up later realised it was a fungus. It had emptied itself of spore and was collapsing, but good enough to identify a truffle-like fungus, Cortinarius beeverorum. It was about 2.5cm across.
