Cross country skiing

My first time experiencing cross country skiing, at a specialist centre just outside Winter Park. I hadn't realised the sport could be so specialised, with these specially groomed trails to practice on. 

It had been about 20 years since I strapped on a pair of skis, so approached it with trepidation. Turns out its rather a lot of fun, though definitely a work out at the same time. When you start to find the rhythm of "shooting" one foot ahead of the other, transferring your weight at the same time, it's incredibly satisfying. 

In terms of the down hill part, I soon found that blindly hoping these grooves will safely guide you to the bottom was a rather naive thought. There was a lot of falling over and swear words may have been uttered . . .
