New shelf

I ordered 2 shelves but only one has been put up, where I was wanting to put the other one it turns out it is too long by just about an inch which was above my mirror which overlaps the edge wall of my window, will figure something out. If it didn't have a charge point and on off switch on the side then it would be fine.
Why wasn't the charge point put underneath.

On the plus side I still testing negative for Covid
