Premature end to the season

Time to put away my curling gear. Due to a major breakdown of the refrigeration plant at the ice rink the season has ended early. By the time the repair can be made, the ice will have melted and the markings will be gone. It would take a further two weeks to remake curling ice and lay down all the lines. By now a lot of competitions are finished but any that haven't will be completed at the start of next season.

This is so disappointing for everyone involved and just after losing more than a season to Covid. It's hoped they can be back up and running for a few weeks of skating before closing for the summer.
