I had a look round our local shops for anything I could take a photo of for International Women’s Day. I knew our lovely independent bookshop wouldn’t let me down so here is their display which was surrounded by various things about the war in Ukraine.
Tonight I went to see a film called ‘Hive’ in our local cinema. It was about a woman whose husband was one of the missing during the war in Kosovo and her attempts to set up a business with other women in a similar position to support their families. All this was very much against the expectations of local men about how women should behave. It was a brilliant film. Perfect for today.
