New and old

Read a fascinating book called The Hidden Life of Trees by Peter Wohlleden which has, along with other books, given a whole perspective on trees and forests. Which was what prompted todays blip of a new tree growing alongside a fallen comrade. We just don’t really know what’s going on inside or between trees.

In a tumultuous world we had a quiet day. Pottered this morning, walk this afternoon and ukulele meeting this evening. I recall comments at the beginning of the year along the lines of “2022, it cannot be worse than 2020 and 2021”

Father Brian D’Arcy gave some helpful advice on Pause for Thought on Radio 2 on Monday. He was out enjoying the countryside feeling guilty about enjoying peace and tranquillity with all that’s going on in the world. His advice was not to let guilt affect your opportunities for re-creation.
