What a lovely day:-

for Heath Robinson to be Proud

Each year I store the bees crop of honey in specially made big airtight containers.  It would be too much of an effort to put all the honey in jars at one go.

Then as the winter months pass  the honey that is stored goes solid in the containers and will in effect store for ever.  However there is a constant demand for honey and I slowly melt it and then bottle the liquid honey in batches.

Here you see a batch that has just been bottled.  The last jar of honey is always the slowest and rather than waste any I prefer to leave the bottling container to fill the jar by itself...

I am always surprised by how much honey comes out of a seemingly empty container!
