I’ve Been Up There

As we walked along the Crêtes de Zore, we enjoyed fabulous views on both sides. Here I’m sharing a blip of Les Hauts Forts and Pointe de Ressachaux. I think we were up there in June of 2019 but I shall have to check my blips to be sure. It was a stiff climb of about 1100m on a hot June day, so quite a challenge, but the butterflies and alpine flowers were a wonderful encouragement.

We saw a couple of Peacock butterflies today but there were no flowers or even shoots yet, amongst the still brown grass patches where the snow has melted. Perhaps they don’t need to feed after hibernation? I suspect they just mate, lay eggs and die.

We are now just about home. A long day but a good one.
