hey, that wasn't there yesterday!

Search and rescue is about saving lives - that is, people, not property.

However, it's pretty hard to tell the owner of a yacht that has broken its moorings just after sunset lastnight and is heading out across the bar, that we're only here to rescue him!

Despite best efforts, the vessel was aground about 2 hours before low tide, and salvage attempts were futile until more water arrived.

This photo was taken this morning around the next low tide.

I can report that the vessel is floating at her mooring again this evening. Hey ho
