Fell Foot Boat House

The Victorian boat houses are all that remain of the estate with a substantial villa  built by Jeremiah Dixon , a wealthy Leeds merchant and his wife Mary, daughter of Eddystone Lighthouse engineer John Smeaton,   Before Dixon's day (he bought what was then a farm in 1784),  the public road was next to the shore but of course he moved it, to keep the public out of his  park .
Water temperature 6.6°C.  700m ( 100m in just a cozzy)
