Hissing swan

Down to the pond where, it is disappointing to report, there were much bad temperedness. You would think it might be the opposite with the prospect of new relationships to form, new homes to be built and a new family to look forward to. Not a bit of it.

The ducks were particularly fractious. The male:female ratio meant that the girls had considerable choice available to them. That seemed to bring out the worst in the males who were all quack and peck.

This swan was on its own perhaps grateful for the peace and quiet. It didn't appreciate our attention.
