Excited

This set got me very excited at the auction last week.

It's a set of cross-stitch instructions by Therese de Dillmont.  Anyone who is into embroidery must know of her Encyclopedia of Embroidery (still available today)  - and she lent her name to the DMC Company.  Austrian by birth (1846 - 1890), she was a very gifted needlewoman and writer.

This particular set of three books were published in the late 1880's and are in French, but that doesn't matter.  The diagrams are very clear, and I can follow written French at a pinch.

I got them quite cheaply but would happily have paid more if I had to.
