Stink Bug

 I haven’t seen one of these before and had to do a search on the internet. The nearest I could get was a nymph of the green vegetable bug, aka stink bug. One way to find out. I tapped it on the back. A spray of fluid squirted from either side of the body. Some went on my finger. It is definitely a stink bug.

This bug is bad news. Apparently it was only found in the warmer parts of New Zealand, but climate change is extending its range.
