Eastern Great Egret

It was pleasing to see the egret on the Cooks River. The P plate at least gives a sense of its size (and how polluted the river is) and the small whirlpool suggests fish, possibly with a large eel underneath. After all the rain the mudflats were particularly pungent.

We’d caught the bus to Tempe, walked 6 km or so along the river and arrived at Canterbury just before another downpour.

Hope you’re having an enjoyable Sunday.
