Hobart

We flew toTasmania today and are staying with friends in Hobart. Tomorrow we go to Flinders Island.

We got a fright at 7:30 last night when we received a text message from Qantas saying our flight had been cancelled and we could go to the website to rebook or request a refund, or to do so through our travel agent if that’s how it had been booked, which it had.
We tried to ring the airline to see what was going on but there was a 2 hour phone queue! The flight still appeared to exist on the website so we thought it might be a scam and decided to go to the airport anyway.
On enquiry there we were told the flight numbers had changed but we were still booked. That was a relief but pretty annoying the worry it had given us. Surely a message saying “your flight number has changed” would be more helpful. Had Julia not been dropping us off I wouldn’t have fancied a $100 (one way) taxi ride out there to find out.
