A Lengthy Day of Travel

And a view at length, of Ingatestone Station. The aftermath of Storm Eunice had resulted in numerous cancellations and thankfully many commuters had decided to remain at home. The meeting to which I was invited was going ahead regardless, which resulted in a 2 hour journey into the capital (usually 1 hour).

Despite my resolve to avoid socialising at the pub in the evening and head straight home, Storm Franklin had arrived during the day and laid waste to a number of trees, one of which thoughtfully tumbled across the mainline. Unsurprisingly, there were no trains leaving at all, so there was only one thing to do - seek refuge in the Three Crowns in the company of colleagues and Neck Oil.

The journey home took 3 hours...
