Red Lines

Red lines, what’s the point? They never seem to deter anyone, they never seem to benefit those setting them. At least this one is useful, lighting up our bus home from some, admittedly dodgy, tenpin practice.
So watching the news again from Ukraine: maternity hospitals bombed again, blocks of flats bombed again, thousands of civilians dead, entire towns and villages flattened, millions of women and children fleeing and leaving their men behind to fight, maybe to never see them again. Good job it’s not a war then Vlad.
And meanwhile our Govt is faffing about in a bureaucratic guddle, asking refugees to provide evidence of who they are and if that evidence is lost in the rubble of their house then tough, they’re stuffed. We really do have a sorry apology for a Govt.
Meanwhile at home, and on a slightly happier note, there aren’t a high number of folk dying of Covid just now despite hospital admissions being their highest in a year. Looking forward to the surge that’ll no doubt follow restrictions being lifted next week. Not.
