Garden Lake, Wallington

Another sightseeing trip today. We started with a drive to Wallington via single track routes over the Simonside Hills with 360 degree views to the horizon.
We chose Wallington to show my friend the crocus lawn but it had almost disappeared as the crocuses had mostly died. We walked via the Garden Lake and it’s wonderful reflections. Stayed in Wallington for a sandwich lunch then onto Otterburn for a cup of tea and shared cake. We did a short walk into the village then nosed in the Otterburn Mill shop.
Drove home via the small village of Elsdon where we explored the church on the Green. Then back through Rothbury for ‘himself’ to enjoy a couple of pints in his favourite micro pub.
All back to ours for supper, then dropped friend off at her hotel. Bed now to recharge my batteries for tomorrow’s day of sightseeing. Zzzzzz
