Breaking Up Is Hard To Do

Shooting towards the setting sun produced glare off the water giving it a warm tint. The ice breaking up along the shore, however, was bluish and had turned dark. The histogram was lumped in the middle and the resulting image had little contrast. It was quite difficult to spread out the tones to give some definition to the shapes of the ice. It's not the most attractive image I've ever taken, but it is unusual.

Although the lake remains frozen, daytime temps are rising now and I think winter is drawing to a close. Famous last words!
