On This Day In History
1601: The first St. Patrick's Day Parade in New York City is held

Quote Of The Day
"St. Patrick's Day is an enchanted time - a day to begin transforming winter's dreams into summer's magic."
(Adrienne Cook)

Started the day with a 22 kilometre run and then, after lunch, I went to watch the cranes in their nests at Shukugawa. A lovely way to spend one and a half hours. No leprechauns or pots of gold, but cranes symbolise good fortune and longevity in Japan. That'll do nicely.
