Happy St Patrick’s Day

My DNA comes back as 100% Scottish and yet my maternal great grandfather was an Irishman.

He was an Irish Orangeman who often marched in parades that became violent. This had the affect of making my grandfather not wanting to affiliate with a specific religion.

It’s probably a good thing grandpa wasn’t hung up on religion because his oldest daughter married a Jewish fellow. His middle daughter married a Presbyterian and his youngest married a Catholic!

Years ago we had an orange cat that was born on St Patrick’s Day and my sister named it Paisley saying it was obviously an Irish Orangeman and named it after the Reverend Iain Paisley!

My photo is of one of the new garden flags that arrived today.
