Derwentwater

This was not what we had planned.  On the strength of a reasonable forecast with a low percentage chance of a shower all day, we headed out to Seathwaite for a gentle walk up to Styhead Tarn and onward to Sprinkling Tarn. We arrived to dark grey skies and had just walked into the farm yard at Seathwaite before it started to rain heavily.  Instant decision to return to the car for shelter and to wait out the "shower".  After an hour we were still waiting so abandoned the idea and drove back to Keswick and went for coffee.  Had a walk out of town up to the Catbells Terrace in the afternoon where this image was shot and made it back just as the rain started again.
