Reflecting On Winter

Now the ice has melted in parts of the inlet, the bottom, with all its associated debris lying there, is clearly visible. Another unbelievably warm day for this time of year and breezy with it, the sun casting a warm glow on the dried reeds.

I like how the reflections of those reeds still standing are interrupted by the view of dead vegetation below the surface. Reflections are a virtual phenomenon whereas the vegetation is real, albeit distorted by the water. I like the ambiguity.

I remembered to drop the exposure enough to keep the colour of the reeds in direct sunlight, which burn out easily.
