Peacock

A lovely surprise that nearly caught me out. I didn't  expect to see butterflies so early in the spring so I wasn't  ready with my camera. Luckily, the lure of the hyacinth kept him/her there long enough for me to get my camera,. Beautiful condition so freshly emerged, I thought, but the RSPB suggests they don't emerge until July so probably  overwintered.
