There's always one..

Another beautiful day, another walk - this time to Salthouse Marshes, to the west of the campsite. We altered the route this time, reducing the trek along the shingle ridge & extending the walk further along the marsh, to the section purchased by the Norfolk Wildlife Trust to add on to their well-known reserve at Cley. The return leg took us across fields high above the marshes.

Yesterday the highlights were flowers & insects, today the birds took centre stage. Avocet, curlew, redshank, oystercatchers, shelduck, mallard, wigeon, teal, greylag, Brent geese, marsh harriers - the list goes on - & that was just from walking on the dogs-allowed paths, not from sitting in hides!
