St. Cuthbert’s Way Day 1

Walked 20 miles today in glorious sunshine. Stunning views. A fantastic footpath with so much of interest. Several ruins of abbeys, a memorial to a woman fighting in a battle in 1545 who allegedly continued fighting on her stumps when her legs were cut off (!!!!), a very wobbly suspension bridge over the River Tweed which was not a highlight and over friendly sheep. Sunburnt and not at all sure that my sister who is a novice walker will still be speaking to me in the morning!! But a fabulous day!
