One day at a time

Wark Mechanics’ Institute

Otherwise know as the Town Hall, even though we are a village.

It is set for the Friday Coffee Morning. £2 for limitless coffee, scones and cakes.
We had 23 people today. Mrs S is on a rota with a friend. Her friend couldn’t make it so I helped. Mrs S baked several cakes and scones.

Upstairs is a full size snooker table and a library. The books are old. Nobody looks at them. I have played snooker and I know of two other men who have.

Tonight we had a social dinner here for the Royal British Legion with a fiddle player and a local man singing Northumberland traditional songs. The Ladies made a two course meal, coffee, homemade biscuits, there was a bar and a raffle.

It is a lovely place to live.
