The world of alpines

We have been members of the Alpine Garden Society for over thirty years.
Along with many others we came to this world as a result of walking holidays in the Alps where it was a joy finding and identifying the wonderful flowers which grow in the mountains.

Here in the north-west of England we have an active branch of the Society and today was the day for the annual public show which takes place in Kendal.

Although the pandemic led to a smaller number of exhibitors it was still a success with eight or nine Nurseries selling a great range of alpine plants.

The main shotshows some of the “cushion” plants which seem to have done well this year. I have also added some extras to give more of a glimpse of this botanical hobby.
