Slide away on a dream

'Slip away' she said,

'Oh, right,' I said, unaware that our evening had come to an end until I saw her turn her back on me. My eyes rested heavily on her slender body daring her, imploring her to turn back to me. Instead her deafening silence bore me down, causing me to take a deep breath, sigh heavily and leave.

Moments later, the London night air resting heavily on my brow, I walked aimlessly hoping something to just make sense, but it didn't. I was alone under a blood stained sky and there was nothing I could do about it.
