A grand day out!

Wow - what a day. We only have three months left in out Wainwright Challenge, so we had to step it up (pun intended) today - Headed over to Loweswater and walked (climbed) Mellbreak, Hen Comb, Gavel Fell, Blake Fell & Burnbank. It ended up as a longer walk than our Wasdale walk a couple of weeks back - and greater height climbed. Managed 13.4 miles and 3800 feet of climbing, Sunny, and extra 2 of Crummock from Mellbreak makes it all look idyllic, but constant 35 - 40mph winds, and 80% of the walk was bog. It felt like a great achievement, and we loved the day, but we were seriously tired at the end. Extra 1 shows some of the route.

I had to blip this sky, which was the sky just after sunset - though it didn't make up part of such an amazing day, these (lenticular) clouds really were special

Hen Comb: 154/214
Gavel Fell: 155/214
