Back into London today to meet P for breakfast. I was a bit early so walked from Liverpool Street to London Bridge where we met. We headed off to Bermondsey and ate at The Watch House. It’s a tiny place and luckily we got a table.
It’s got quite a history .
Built in the early 19th century, this sheltered those who kept watch against the grave robbers who sought to harvest cadavers from St Mary Magdalen church graveyard. It also served as a base for the local Watch who attempted to keep law and order before the establishment of a police force.
After breakfast we had a potter around Borough Market before heading off our separate ways. I walked back along the river and crossed it via the Millennium Bridge . Lots going on around St Paul’s with groups of guided tours and areas cordoned off for filming.
